In 2007 we refocused our vision as an Open Church, seeking to be Open to God, Open to each other and Open to our wider community.
We have recently undertaken a review of our church life alongside other Methodist Churches in our circuit. We aim to focus our outreach on young families, teenagers and young adults and social and spiritual care for older members of the local community.
We believe that being open to God means having a prayerful attitude in trying to better understand who God is calling us to be as followers of Jesus in the 21st Century. It is about creating space for God to guide us and give us strength in every situation.
Being open to each other means putting the needs of others before ourselves and learning to welcome and value people of all ages and backgrounds, as Jesus did, no matter how uncomfortable that may make us feel.
Being open to the wider community means to share the message of Jesus in our local community and beyond, taking opportunities to make new contacts and have a positive impact on the lives of those around us.
