ELM HALL DRIVE METHODIST CHURCH
OUR MISSION
God of Mission,
Who alone brings growth to your Church,
Send your Holy Spirit to give
Vision to our planning,
Wisdom to our actions,
Joy to our worship,
And power to our witness.
Help our church to grow in numbers,
In spiritual commitment to you,
And in service to our local community,
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
As a congregation in the Methodist Connexion, we seek to live out our calling (see below) by worshipping God, sharing our faith and caring for our community. Even when the future seems uncertain, we look for growth and spiritual renewal, and aim to make our church a welcoming space for all.
Every Sunday, we say the "Leading Your Church Into Growth" prayer:
WORSHIPPING GOD
We aim to worship God in rich and diverse ways, and to better understand who God is calling us to be, as followers of Jesus Christ, in the 21st century. We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds to our worship.
SHARING OUR FAITH
We share the message of Jesus in our local community and beyond; taking opportunities to make new contacts and to have a positive impact on the lives of those around us.
CARING FOR OUR
COMMUNITY
We put the needs of others before ourselves and are active in reaching out to families with young children, supporting older people and exploring relevant Christian community for young adults.
OUR CALLING
The calling of the Methodist Church is to respond to the gospel of God's love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission.
