ELM HALL DRIVE METHODIST CHURCH
PARTNERS AND LINKS
LIVERPOOL SOUTH METHODIST CIRCUIT
EHD is one of the seven church communities that make up the Liverpool South Methodist Circuit. The churches share ministers and lay members of staff, and we are grateful for the role that the circuit stewards and local preachers play in the organisation and running of the circuit.
At EHD, we have regular shared services with Princes Park Methodist Church and join in any circuit services. More recently, we have enjoyed taking part in Monday Mix-up, a weekly session for all ages run by the circuit's children and youth workers.
CHURCHES TOGETHER
After many years of informal sharing, ten local churches including EHD signed a covenant to commit to shared worship and witness in 1996. The other churches currently involved are Allerton URC, Bethel (Welsh Presbyterian), Bishop Eton (RC), St. Barnabas (CofE), St Matthew and St James Mossley Hill (CofE), All Hallows (CofE), St Antony of Padua (RC) and Wavertree Christian Fellowship.
In the past, we have shared in outdoor witness at Easter and Christmas, have run shared Alpha courses and have also organised services for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity each January.
We continue to explore other ways in which we can work alongside and support our local neighbourhood - so if you have any suggestions then please get in touch!
LINKS
During 2025/6, all of the churches in the Liverpool South Methodist Circuit took part in an excellent training course called "Leading Your Church Into Growth". Originally developed for the Church of England, our training was led by the missional discipleship enabler from the Mersey Synod of the United Reformed Church, so it was a very ecumenical undertaking!
